JJW-891 vs JJW-890: Choosing a Spray Starch for Garment Finishing
On a pressing line, the useful measure of a spray starch is not how crisp one sample feels — it is whether operators can repeat the same finish across fabrics, shifts and batches. Our two ironing starches, JJW-891 and JJW-890, are close relatives, and buyers should trial them rather than assume a performance gap.
What they share
Both are applied as a light, even mist from roughly 20–30 cm before ironing or pressing. Both aim for wrinkle reduction with a soft rather than board-stiff result, easier iron glide, and a surface that picks up everyday soil less readily between washes.
Where positioning differs
- JJW-891 leans on a lightweight micro-setting polymer finish — apparel, workwear, hotel bed linen and table textiles.
- JJW-890 is framed as a textile-grade finisher for commercial laundry and garment lines.
These are market positions, not lab-grade distinctions. If resin type, solids content or residue behavior affects a customer approval, request the current specification sheets.
Write a finish standard before testing
“Crisp” means different things for a dress shirt, a hotel sheet and a uniform. Define, per product group: crease sharpness, stiffness/drape, visible residue on dark fabric, press glide, odor after cooling, and wash-out behavior. Approve physical reference samples — they beat any subjective score.
